Hyunjun YANG
Hyunjun YANG’s acrylic on Korean paper works are a celebration of maternal love, inspired by his own mother’s unconditional care and sacrifice. The central figure in all of Yang’s paintings is his mother, a representation of the love and nurturing that we all experience from the ones closest to us. Each painting depicts the little girl protagonist going on various adventures, evoking a sense of nostalgia for childhood memories and a connection to the emotions we all go through in life. The iconic runny nose of the little girl is a symbol of the childlike essence present in all of us, reminding us to cherish our inner child and stay connected to our genuine selves amidst the changes and challenges of life. Yang’s works are an ode to familial affection and a reminder to appreciate the relationships that shape our lives.
